Richard Gibbon BA FCA

After graduating with a BA in Accounting & Finance in 1987, Richard joined Coopers & Lybrand in Manchester, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. During his time there he also undertook three secondments; for the Management Consultancy practice in the Isle of Man, as Financial Controller of a PLC, and implementing systems for a first wave hospital trust.

In 1994 Richard moved to Coopers & Lybrand in Romania where he was Senior Manager in the Audit and Valuation department. He had responsibility for a range of audit clients and privatisation projects and also had a six-month secondment to a Private Ownership Fund.

Promotion to Managing Partner of Coopers & Lybrand Kazakhstan followed where he was in charge of the office and all clients in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. This included audit assignments for local and multinational companies and advice on inward investment.

Richard joined BPP in 1999 and was responsible for establishing their office in Slovakia. He was responsible for running many aspects of the office and presented on a number of exam and non-exam courses. Subsequently he was Director of International Operations for BPP; responsible for their business in countries outside the UK.

Since 2010 Richard has been a partner at Cubic9 LLP, where he works on projects in the United Kingdom and Internationally and presents on a number of training courses. Richard has taught in 20 countries around the world and he specialises in Business strategy, Financial sources and structure, Business valuations and Project appraisal.

Erica Gibbon ACA

Erica graduated with a BA(Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance. She spent a year doing voluntary work assisting adults with learning difficulties to set up businesses and to run them effectively. She joined BDO in Manchester and qualified as a Chartered Accountant performing work for clients in the audit and tax areas.

In 1994 she joined Coopers & Lybrand in Romania and was Management Accountant, responsible for internal reporting and external reporting to the global head office. In this newly formed office she was also tasked with establishing the Human Resource function. She subsequently performed consultancy work for Coopers & Lybrand in the CIS Region.

Erica was jointly responsible for setting up and running the Slovak operations of BPP from 1999 and during her 9 years there she was responsible for many aspects of the operation of the office and also established the BPP office in Bulgaria. Subsequently she was Director of special Projects for BPP and undertook assignments around the world.

Since 2010 Erica has been a partner at Cubic9 LLP, a Consulting and Training firm, where she works on projects in the United Kingdom and Internationally. She specialises in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Management strategy, Human resources, Personal development and is also a certified practitioner of NLP.
